AHIMA Annual Convention Submissions
AHIMA cordially invite you to submit your contribution to the 2016 American Health Information Management (AHIMA) Annual Convention, the premier professional association forum addressing health information management and health informatics practices, principles, theories and applications. The Call for Participation is intended to highlight the diverse interests and areas that broadly constitute the fields of Health Information Management and Health Informatics.
The AHIMA Annual Convention offers health information management and health informatics practitioners, educators, students, and researchers the opportunity to share their expertise and insights and to disseminate their research, findings and recommendations.
For 2016, AHIMA seeks submissions describing health information management and health informatics research and analytical approaches as well as the day to day practice and application of health information management and health informatics. The conference provides a venue for forward looking, thought-provoking, and groundbreaking discussions. The educational sessions at AHIMA 2016 are designed to offer training, information, and updates on issues vital to health information management and health informatics in the context of an ever changing and often challenging environment.
AHIMA will organize accepted submissions into selected tracks and themes. Individual submissions that are not selected for presentations or panels may be invited to participate in the Poster or other related Networking of CEU events. The sessions will help practitioners identify and embrace best practices, leverage lessons learned, and adopt state-of-the-art solutions; allow educators and students to stay up to date on current advancements; and help regulators and policymakers make sound decisions about health information management and health informatics. Some sessions will emphasize conceptual and theoretical advances relating to the structure, collection, processing, management, maintenance and use of health data. These sessions will present analysis, innovation, and research on the fundamental underpinnings of health information management and health informatics.
Other sessions will emphasize the design, technology, implementation, use and evaluation of health information management and systems as well as knowledge resources across of the care continuum– including acute, ambulatory, public health, chronic care settings, hospices, and homes. These sessions will focus on in health information management and health informatics solutions and approaches that work in the real world to address current and emerging problems.
Please submit a formal proposal to be considered as a speaker in the pre-convention tutorials, convention educational sessions (presentations and panels) or to have a graphic presentation featured in the Poster Showcase.
